Arterial Hypertension

The arterial hypertension, more popularly called “high blood pressure” is related to the heart strength to push blood to all the body.

It depends on our routine, like: physical activities, sleepiness, alimentation, emotional state or stress. The blood pressure can rise to high levels, what does not mean the person suffers from high blood pressure.

If it is high or uncontrolled, the pressure can cause very serious health problems, like heart diseases, heart attack, sight loss, kidney paralysis and brain strokes, all with strong consequences when difficult to treat.

Arterial Hypertension does not have a specific or isolated cause, but studies have shown that in spite of some cases that are due to hereditariness, the majority is still related to environmental elements, like high salt consumption, obesity, excessive alcohol consumption and smocking habits, which simultaneously have unquestionable power to increase one’s arterial pressure.

• Nowadays there are 26 million of hypertensive Brazilian people;
• 300 thousand Brazilian people are victims of acute myocardial infarction;
• Cardiovascular diseases are the first death cause in Brazil;
• 420 thousand people die, every year, from ICH (Intra-cerebral Hemorrhage);
• According to the specialists from international institutions, the number of hypertensive people in developing countries, like Brazil, can reach 80% until 2025;
